Today, we took it easy. We played and had fun as a family. Today was a glorious day. Plenty of sunshine and a light breeze. I thought we should fly kites, though when we arrived at my brothers the kids wanted to ride his Kubota instead. They had a blast. After playing they were thirsty. So we drank from the well on my brother’s property. (Great water.) Here is one of the pictures of Jaden getting his drink.jaden-drink.JPG

Shay’s heart has slowed down. We saw a specialist today who told us that all of her blood tests came back normal. Always nice to hear that our child is not mal-nourished. Well he still would like to see the results of the 24-hour monitor and the echocardiogram but we won’t have those for a couple of days.

Shay is her normal bouncy self today. She said, “I must be better since I can do a cartwheel and it doesn’t hurt.” We had the echocardiogram today. My guess is that it won’t show anything. Perhaps it will. Anyway she is much better, no pain and her heartrate is 90-100, which can be considered normal for her age. My prayer is that we would actually know what happened. We took the 24-hour monitor off today just before the echocardiogram. My guess is also that it may not help much. We’ll see tomorrow at 3 or 4.

Shay seems to be improving. Her heartrate/pulse seemed lower tonight.  Possibly around 100.  She said it doesn’t hurt as much. We’ll see what tomorrow holds and what God is doing as we go about the day.  For now this is a good sign.  I would like to say that I would love to know what is / has happened.  Many people are praying for Shay.  From our home church in Indiana to our churh in Florida and lots of friends and family from Ireland to Australia.

Shay asked to not go to church today as she didn’t want to jump around while she sang. She said she “didn’t want to wiggle.”  Her chest hurts her a little less today. Her heartbeat is consistently over 120 bpm and she had a hard time falling asleep last night. She did not seem to be as slow to do things today. She has been playing with her sisters instead of sitting on couch and watching TV so perhaps a little better today. We’ll see what tonight and tomorrow hold.

We likely won’t know anything until Wednesday.

Shay’s heartbeat is racing at over 140 beats per minute. (It is really hard to count a heartbeat/pulse that fast) Not a very good thing. Her chest hurts and is not her bouncy self. We are “grounded” for at least a week while medical tests are performed. We had hoped to do some other traveling. Well, God knows best. We appreciate your prayers while we/they try to figure out what is wrong. We visited the Emergency Room, a family doctor, a specialist and will have a battery of tests next week. Shay and the other kids all were sick 10-14 days earlier with some high fever spikes and sore throats.

When driving back from Staples to get the Bluetooth Headset, I asked Maia what they talked about in Sunday School that morning.  She said: “Jesus going into Jersulam with all the Pom Poms.”  Or was that Palm Palms?  Probably a misunderstanding of “Palm Fronds”.

We finally are over the flu thing!!! We still are coughing a little, but are no longer contagious anymore so we can go visit my mother! This is great. The sickness lasted about 8 days per person. Worst was the fever that would come and go for 6 days.

We are all sick. Kids have had fevers in excess of 104 degrees. All 6 of us have been sick in the past week. Looks like it hangs around for over 7 days. Ugghh. We’ll see what tomorrow holds.

What a crazy way to lose teeth. Her first tooth was a normal bottom front tooth. The second to be lost is on the other side of her other front tooth. Now she has a hole on each side of 1 baby tooth.
